Very nice shot. I like the B + W conversion and the setting is lovely. One nit pick is that I would like to see a bit more detail in the snow in the foreground. Nice shot nonetheless. Good luck this week.
Steve, I agree with you that the "plain" foreground is a weakness. Within the narrow angle that emphasised the qualities of the hay crib that I wanted to capture, there was only smooth, windblown snow in the foreground, so I had to go with it. Perhaps it is just rationalization, but I do think that the bleakness of the foreground may help set the "atmosphere" of the scene.
