Still comming to grips with this macro photography or in this case closeup, need to get out a lot more. Have been taking note of a lot of threads in the forum regarding composition and looking back at most of what I have done so far (very little) I can still see improvement every time I give it another go.
Still a lot more work to get to the standard of John, Tom, Brain and a few of the others regulars here but without yor inspiration I am sure I would have given up long ago.
I am very open to any comments on this effort.
Changed tack here a wee bit as far as ger goes left the macro behind and used my 70-200 with 20mm of extention tubes
Well it looks good to me- lovely composition and BG.
Not sure if a tiny bit of fill flash (with a lot of -ve fec) would have lit up the DF a bit more without destroying the existing lighting ?
very nice dragonfly shot. not only do you have nice details and sharpness of the subject, but the background and reed add beautifully to the total composition. excellent work.

Wow! That's the kind of scene and light that I LOVE to shoot!
A diffused on camera flash set to -2 FEC would be the only way you could make that shot better -VERY WELL DONE!!!
Thanks for the comments Still taking baby steps here trying to get one process under control at a timeI will take on Brain and your suggestion to try with the flash next time I am out.
