Hi all, I did this wedding september last year. And I want to show it to you. We we to an abandoned factory. There was a lot of grafity and cracks in the walls. They choose the location and I liked it very much. Let me know ur opinions on these.
I think the location was a "decent" idea as PART of the shoot, but does it have meaning for them to want to go to a place like that or where they simply trying to be different? If they have a nice looking place to compliment the photos that would be great. I would love an opportunity like this
As far as your work is concerned, it looks as though you have some good shots. However, in this sampling you have nothing but overly processed images. I assume you have more photos with simple good ole fashion lighting, composition, exposures, etc.....yes/no? You seem to have let the processing be dominate where it should not be. You are a photographer first, so let that be your guide. PP is to enhance an image.
The first three look like ghost who just got married and they are now in their abandoned home.
#4, 8, and 9 are good. Undo the PP and let the photography stand on it's own.
#10 is good
#11 is good but is a little to centered and overly processed. It looks like it is a good ring shot but it is distracting due to the pp.
I agree with cordell about the location, if they chose it, then OK. I always try and have my locations mean something, but I also would love a chance to come to an awesome place like this for an e-session or Seniors.
The composition and exposure looks great, but the processing looks a little over done. I like the motion blur in #2, but my first impression is that they were going to collide! I felt bad for them! Great idea, but maybe have one stationary, or both moving in the same direction.
Overall I think they're great, just the processing (ie: glow/blur and colors) needs some reworking.
Hmm interesting replys.
As far as the location is concerned it was theire choise to go there.
I just liked it a lot
For the PP I did use it a lot indeed. But it's cause I love this kind of PP. I find that if I use the digital filters I used with these my images will look much better then without them. Imo it's the little extra that u add to a picture to make it pop out.
U wanna see them without the (exaggerated) PP? I can do that, that would be an interesting comparison I think.
I thought the processed image were good. But originals were better. Sorry. I know you spent some time of them, but it is probably a little too much.
Your processed #3 doesn't work for me because I feel like the colored grafiti fights for attention with the couple. cool location though.
Yep, as I thought, the originals look much better. With a little burning here and there and dark vignetting you will have a much better pop for the images. In my opinion the use of filters should fit the image because not every image looks good with the same filters. Filters should help an image. I think in just about all of these the use of the particular filters hurt the images.
Your work at this location looks good. Stand up and be proud of it. Tweak it a lil' and you're there.
I like what you did with the first and second images. the rest i agree just need some basic adjustments.
I also agree this would be great as part of a shoot.
I have shot weddings where the couple have insisted on a location though that was not as great as where we could go and time simply did not permit the second location.
