p.1 #1 · One More Kiss!

Did this for a friend for Christmas. He was actually pointing at me in a way of saying "Don't come any closer" ha! Painted in Photoshop using a combination of smudge and direct painting using airbrushing and other brushes.
I added the bear and blanket.

Thanks Terry! Who was it that said "A portrait is a picture where there is something not quite right with _________ " fill in the blank with the appropriate feature

I do love portraits though and guess I always will !

I know we're programed to find something sharp in a photograph. Maybe just sharpen the pupil of the eye for them.

Actually since this was for Christmas, I should ask "what did you do if anything to change the picture?"

I'm looking at your image and wondered where did the light come from? I presumed it was a bedroom light, or perhaps a window beside him?

Thanks for the additional comments ! I am not getting notified for some reason, so sorry for the delay in replying! The light was a window light from behind and there was some light from the next room.
Here is the original so you can see that much of the 'light' was painted in and I used shadow/highlights and curves to bring out the shadow detail before painting.
