This is just a hopefully helpful suggestion regarding the equipment Reviews section.
While the SLR and Lens sections are pretty thorough and present a wide range of products, the Digital Photography Accessories section is woefully inadequate. As an example, there are only 8 entries in Printers. None of the entries is at all current and only 3 manufacturers are represented. If the intent is to provide user feedback on a broad range of devices, it's not working.
I'm not sure how to fix it. It obviously takes time to set up the entries and opening the entry creation process to the masses is likely to lead to chaos with the end result being still unhelpful. Perhaps there could be a submission process, where users are invited to suggest equipment for review and a team of moderators could choose and build the entries. I have no idea if such a thing would work, but the current system needs overhaul.
With as equipment-conscious a readership as exists on FM, it would seem that a more robust Review section would be a natural and might even relieve some of the rather crowded discourse that goes on in the equipment fora.
