Congrats on these captures, Chris. I believe this is the first time I see a Lewis's Woodpecker posted here. The same for the Vermillon Flycatcher. Beautiful shots of beautiful birds, including the Wilsons Warbler.
Socrate Hello, Socrate. Thanks so much, I always appreciate hearing from you.

Beautiful series, Chris. I was at Lindo between Christmas and New Years, out hunting the Vermillion, but I never saw it. People would see me with the camera and talk to me about this beautiful red bird they saw "yesterday", but hadn't seen today.
The Godwit series is fantastic, and the Woodpecker is quite a find, too. Hi, Mark. Sorry you missed the Vermillon, he is always at the east end of the lake, next time you're down give me a shout and I' ll take you there.

Chris -
I see that you're trying to catch up on your posting. You're still pretty back logged from the look of things.
That first shot of the Lewis looks like he just got a pretty good jolt.
That's some mighty fine looking flight shots of him too.
As for the Godwit, you always seem to be there for the behavioral shots, no matter what the bird. Good instinct and timing, I guess.
Now, hurry up and post the rest of your back logs.
- Ken Hey, Ken. Trying to, but it is tough. Backlog doesn't come close to what I got here, but when the choice is go take pictures or process, I'll go take pictures.

Wonderful series, Christopher. I had the same thought as Ken in that the first one appears to have received a good jolt Beautiful bird. The Godwit is hilarious and that second shot of him is fantastic. Hi, Maggie. Thanks so much. Sorry I haven't been writing in, but I do get to see most of your wondrful images, just busy beyond belief.

beautiful images Chris, appreciate the commentary.
the godwit is hilarious and made for some great images with his antics
Thank you, Dave. I know sometimes we give creatures human traits, but this was the real deal, a true tantrum.

Excellent series Chris, no one had documented the birds of SD better than you have. Congrats on the Lewis's! Thanks, Laura, I appreciate your kind words. You know about time constraints, and these last few months have been hard to get on board here.
Love your V. Flycatcher Chris, never seen one of these before, and your Godwit sequence is very funny, (has that got anything to do with you ). A Lewis Woody, wow, what a find, awesome. Verno
