p.3 #1 · Zebras 147, Lions 0

Hi Susan
It had been pleasure seeing your pictures in this forum. I love all of them.

I will be in Masai Mara in few weeks. Did you take these shots from a bean bag or some kind of a panning device.

If the vehicle is closed, I use bean bags. If open, I use a system that my guide and friend, Tony Reumerman, showed me a few years ago. Here is a list of components and photo of how I mount a ballhead onto the rollbar or the handle of the glove compartment in an open safari vehicle:
Bogen / Manfrotto BO635 Quick Action Super Clamp,
Bogen / Manfrotto BO2934 2934 3/8" Head Mounting Plate with Lock Screw,
Arca-Swiss B1 ballhead,
Wimberley SideKick,
RRS foot plate for Canon 500mm/f4 lens.

Have a great trip!

All are superb, though #5 comes first for me and #4 next. #5 printed large should be lovely.

Great series! They are all nice images but 4 really stands out from the rest for it's perspective and uniqueness. Well done.

Great action series and animal drama! Every one is publishable photo. I like them all but number 4 does it for me. Kind of like me watching the pizza delivery guy go to the neighbors house when I'm hungry Great work.

Susan, I find them all excellent. You certainly did a good job photographing these zebras. In some of the pictures you showed the animals in their natural habitat and that to me is part of the story. The lions chasing the zebras is also part of the story about surviving in their environment.
It is a good series and I congratulate you for that.
Great photography!
