So just recently I lost all of my work. No backups. When I go into Light Room, I still see the previews from the work that I lost. These previews are good enough to still get some web images out them. Short of having to do a PRINT SCREEN and pasting them into photshop, how do I find them on the hard drive?
Sorry to hear of your experience. I hope you don't mean your image files are lost.
The Previews file sits next to you Catalog file. It bears the name " 'Your Catalog Name' Previews.lrdata". I fear the contents of the Preview file will not yield images for you, however. It contains an unobvious file and folder structure, tha basis of which apperas to be ".noindex" files.
Have you tried using Windows Explorer to find them rather than My Computer? If this does not work your work may still be there & recoverable.
Try asking these guys. They are a very helpful forum. You'll have to register & it may take a day or two, but they have been around a long while & some of them really know their stuff.
