p.1 #1 · #46 Safety first.

So I decided to start anew. I got but one feedback comment in a few days time while many others are full of chatter, which seemed like a bad sign. I guess a badly lighted clothingpin just doesn't do it for most

So here is something far simpler which I made right after my primairy entry photo. Doesn't get much simpler...well yea, I guess a matchstick would have less lines even...

Highlights blown out way too much for me. The shape gets somewhat lost.

Really ?
A point, a circle, a lock...doesn't get more simple really. The highlights being blown away is what makes this image, more detail and it's just a picture of a safety pin...
Only thing I'd consider changing is zooming out a bit to allow for more background to be in the frame, it's a bit crowded right now...maybe.

My WA contribution I'd expected to get "bad" critiques, not this one...
(judging by the votes on that...people didn't want to hurt my feelings by replying, the votes say it all

)
Oh well, it's my first MA, learning a lot about creativity, technique and taste, plenty of opportunities in the future

You are right.. very simple.... But too overexposed for me as well.. May be it looks great in your monitor, but may be your monitor needs calibration ?
