Thanks Glenn, I did see that when Mike posted it. Wifey is keeping me busy. Pay back for going to a football game.

I know you need Facebook to see it, but this is what the FAA considers as safe after Jimmy flew it into the crowd. When passing by pylon 7-9 you can't be over 250ft of altitude, does not matter if your passing or not.

Watch how close it was. Over 100mph speed difference, a huge 4360 powered Sea Fury blows by Dan Vance in Speedball Alice. Dan took it well. He could be heard over the radio, "That was bitchin".

I lifted the videocode so you all can see the video even without FB

I think FB saw that the code was lifted as it doesn't work any more sorry

Sorry I've been MIA lately: Marcia and I have spent the last nine days in Sicily...

So there I was, standing at the top of the Ancient Greek amphitheater in Taormina, looking out over the bay and the Straits of Messina, working on a bracketed panorama when my background was photobombed...by Frecce Tricolori!

Photos when I get home. I never did finish that panorama...

Spent some time with my cinema gear yesterday. I'm creating a short film on the Global Express and I was scouting locations for sunrise/sunset clips. I love this gear more every time I light it up.

Here's a brief photo report from the 2015 NAS Oceana Airshow. I wasn't planning on going to Oceana this year but found some cheap ticket at the last minute to make it to the Master Hornet Base. I'm not a fan of the F-35 but the one VFA-101 brought up look like it they flew it from lockmart to Oceana. Super clean bird. I most say, it looks far better on the ground than in the air.

Who said Sunliners!?

Man, Oh Man! The sky saturday morning was amazing!

Single blue bug

The coolest Omar's paint scheme

My favorite of the many Hornet belly shots

Future Work Horse or Hanger Queen?

Greg flying the $hit out of beautiful Wildcat

Oh yeah, this thing....

Until next show,
Steven L

Even though I know it goes without saying, make sure everyone you love knows you love them. Don't pass any opportunity to express your love to family and friends. When I saw my son's number on my iPhone Saturday afternoon, I was certain he was calling to ask me to borrow the lawn mower. You never know my friends...

It doesn't "go without saying", actually... it's one of the best pieces of advice one can ever give. You all were spared, by a whisker, and I, too, give thanks for your blessing. But many others are not spared, and did not get or heed that good advice, and many a tragedy is made worse by regret. Purely preventable regret, too, which is even more painful.

We've spent the past couple of days with a friend and client who was told two months ago that he has roughly one more year to live, with terminal cancer that's unlikely to be curable. He, too, is blessed, because his personal affairs were a mess. He may beat the cancer or not, but his estate planning is now impeccable, he's had a chance to tie off loose ends, and several critical conversations have taken place with his children. It's going to be hellishly difficult from this point forward, but it would have been oh-so-much worse if he'd gone with no warning.

God bless you and your family, Jeff. Again and again and again.

A blessing indeed, and among the very best of them!

It struck me just now that I don't believe I've met Sheila yet. We really need to have dinner, or something, with the Supreme Authorities. I cannot tell you how much you'd enjoy meeting Daniela, and likewise for us.

I realize trying to promote it here is like trying to sell ice cubes to polar bears but would love any constructive comments. Never done this sort of thing before so will see how it goes.

You have some very nice images there, and you were just one backer short of funding your campaign, so I decided to join the party. Never forget to ask your friends for support... polar bears love ice cubes!

Strega. Last year Tiger admitted that the plane flew him, he was no longer capable of racing the plane at a top level. Enter former astronaut Hoot Gibson. Now Hoot has a ton of Gold Unlimited races under his belt, but all in Sea Fury's. Until this summer he had never even flown a Mustang, and Strega is not exactly a normal Mustang.

Off to Shafter he went and put some time in. Race week, Monday, smoke is very heavy from the California fires, the canopy is fogging up, Hoot runs a very pedestrian 430mph good for only 4th place. The top 3 sit it out until Friday, Hoot went back up Wednesday and put up a 474mph speed for 2nd behind Rare Bear.

With the Vintage V-12's motor built by the Mike Nixon/Jose Flores combo, and a capable pilot, I don't see Strega getting beat. First lap in the Sunday Gold was 503mph.

Opening shot is from the smokey Monday.

The smoke finally started to clear late Monday, and Sal Rubino's Grim Reaper was the perfect subject.
