Bit of a long query. It has just been agreed by the domestic authorities that my sister-in-law's husband and I can go to Oshkosh in 2016 as long as they can come along and visit big shopping malls
So, I've been to the website and that's produced a few questions:
1. There seem to be "shuttle buses" providing reasonably priced transport from nearby towns so will we need two cars (one of which will sit in an Oshkosh car park most of the time) or can we manage with one and the men cope without?
2. Can anyone suggest a good place to stay? A good hotel in Oshkosh would seem to be ideal for the men but would that give the women enough scope (with a car)?
3. I can't see the women coping with us going for the full seven days - it would seem that the Wednesday night airshow is a must. My principal interests are US military and warbirds (F-22. Warthog, Blue Angels plus Superfortress etc - the stuff that doesn't get to the UK). What should we concentrate on, does each day vary a lot with themes or are they all similar?
4. My brother-in-law works for Aer Lingus and my sister-in-law used to live in Winnipeg and work for Air Canada, so they are both US and airline savvy (he once flew jump-seat from Dublin to NY and back just to buy his son a pair of trainers!) But any specific advice regarding Oshkosh greatly appreciated ( eg how does ticketing work and what does it cost?) as it seems very different from other air shows particularly UK ones eg Farnborough, which also lasts 7 days. PM me if you like rather than post
Thanks in advance Niall
