Hi Paul Welcome to MA2A A great set. What day was that at RIAT? We were there on Saturday and they certainly didn't do the combined team fly-past!

There is another Avro Anson flying, In New Zealand. Saw it a Wanaka this past Easter.

FWIW, The Anson was the first aircraft I flew in, way back in 1955! It was the only aircraft in which I suffered from air-sickness. I sat in the back for nearly 2 hours while the pilot did circuits & bumps. Was I ever glad to get back on the ground!...

Glenn, I don't see F-22 pictures taken from the air often. It must have been quite a thrill to see this beauty in from the air.

Glenn,
fabulous set of shots. A shame they're not still flying the SR-71 Blackbird - would love to have seen that trying to keep up with your Bonanza

The only Blackbird I have seen is the one parked inside the Air & Space Museum new Dulles Airport. But it is still very impressive. Can't imagine how this thing looks in the air.

Welcome Paul! Good work!! Don't be a stranger

Anyone on this thread knows you did a lot more than "mash the button" Jay. Nicely done! That GA State Trooper is way out of his jurisdiction!

I'm Photoshopping away at HQ, had a dawn shot that was shrouded in fog for a bit, cool, but not much help in this instance. The kids were all out at the hangar yesterday. Chandler and I got about 2.5 in the Cub, then I took a good friend of ours who we met through Glenn Smith, for his first Cub ride. He's a retired Air Canada jock and owns an A/4.

The girls were playing a game out on the ramp when we taxied back in. They had hoola hoops spread out in a pattern and were running around with sidewalk chalk drawing things inside the hoops, playing some kind of timed game. We had to leave in a hurry, because Gramma was starving, so I never really saw exactly what they were doing. They had this all set up in front of Glenn's hangar. This morning I pulled up and walked over to Glenn's ramp, they had big hearts drawn with all kinds of designs and notes. I could see him grinning, he loved our little ones.

Funny how something so simple and unplanned can give you so much joy just out of the blue. Of all the Scriptures, to me, one of the easiest to decipher is Matthew 18:3.

Speaking of Photoshop, I've been having all kinds of trouble with Photoshop CC 2014. When I first installed it, it would open for a few seconds and then crash, "Adobe Photoshop has stopped working.". I'm on Windows 8, an i7 processor, 8GB RAM, and a supported graphics card (an NVIDIA 650M).

The initial problem was fixed by updating the graphics card drivers from the NVIDIA website. That worked for a while, then the problems returned (perhaps after a CC update, I'm not positive). All my drivers are the latest. I even tried disabling the graphics card. I did a lot of Googling, and it seems this crashing problem isn't uncommon. I finally found a fix that involved copying a dll file from one Windows system folder to another.

I thought that would be the end of it. I was editing around 1am this morning with no problem. Closed Photoshop, put the PC to sleep, and went to bed myself. Now 10 hours later, it started crashing again. Tried a reboot, didn't help.

Bridge works fine, Photoshop CC (the version prior to the latest 2014 update) works fine. This is so frustrating. What the heck could change in 10 hrs with the PC shut down Anyone else having these issues?

Sigh, back to looking for a solution....

Thanks,

Mark

My old Buddy Butch came to his senses yesterday and texted me saying he has decided the Citation Mustang is just a bit too small for him. He asked what I thought. I have thought that all along, but he was so excited about it that I wasn't going to poke a hole in his balloon. He has decided to do a PC12 demo and fly a King Air 200, before moving on. I hope he goes with the 12 so we can go to school together and I can start building time while ours is being built. I don't think he'll go new, so he'd most likely have his before we do.

Thanks Jim. Yes, I've seen Steve mention that it works for him.

I think I found the problem. I didn't realize that the integrated graphics on the Intel chip were critical, even though I also have the nVidia graphics card. Turns out if I disable the integrated graphics, Photoshop CC 2014 works.

Unfortunately the latest driver from HP is from 2012, and the newest driver from Intel won't automatically install because it's not certified by HP.

I think there is a work around for that, but at least I'm pretty confident I've narrowed the problem down to the integrated graphics driver.

OK, enough of this computer stuff for now. It's a nice day and I have some gardening to do.

Mark

FYI Drobo has not certified the 6TB drive for their units. The Drobo blog shows them running tests, but until they approve it, they won't reset the firmware to calculate capacities using 6TB drives. I'm thinking the tests should already be complete, but no word from Drobo to that effect.

Paul - Great shots from Friday @ RIAT, really missing the roar from the fast jets, Duxford legends (prop aircraft only) being my only outing so far this year.

This isn't the sharpest shot, but I love the angle as the Hellcat starts to bank over towards the 'tank bank' at Duxford
