Near the mouth of the gorge of the Rio Las Conchas we were stopped in our tracks by the stark beauty of the red rock formations in contrast with the bright green of the water-rich bottomlands.

Thanks. They were all taken during the same weekend in Payern last summer. That should give you the idea of what a cool event it was. Really one of a kind.

I have been here all the time, I love this place. It's just that I don't get the opportunity to see flying airplanes that often, so I don't have that much to post here. I mostly take pictures inside aviation and military museums. Maybe I should be more active and post some museum subjects too, something among the more exotic and rare birds.

Okay, let's try and dig my archive for some rare birds sitting inside museums. I start with Bucharest, that museum owns an amazing artillery collection, some tanks plus a bunch of interesting airplanes.

Nardi FN.305, an Italian trainer from the mid-thirties, quite a clean design given its era. It was very popular among Italian pilots. A few were sold abroad, that's how one of the few survivors is located in Romania:

This one could be more familiar to our North-American friends, it still qualify as a rare bird to me:

Patrouille Suisse is facing some problem, since many F-5s were recently grounded. They even had to mix some "grey" F-5s among their usual white/red planes, just to fill the empty slots :-)

You can check their 2015 calendar here. Not sure if its already finalized:

Doesn't look like it - they're booked for Bray (near Dublin) that weekend and the RIAT site says it is the Swiss Pilatus PC-7 team that will be at RIAT - interesting

The PC-7 team is something quite different but cool, I am pretty sure you will like it. They don't fly that often outside Switzerland, and overall, they just run a limited amount of shows every year. That's because they aren't a dedicated acrobatic team, they are full-time military pilots that keep the patrol running as secondary task. :

They use 9 planes. Here you can see 4 of them

Terrific A2A with the Lancair and 172 Jay. I've done a ton of hiking and hunting in that area of the Superstitions - a wonderful backdrop for your A2A work.

Some of those images should be in Lancair's annual report and on the wall at corporate. Time to call Redmond, Oregon and get their attention

Now there is a guy who understands the value of knocking on doors! Good thought Jeff! Funny, I was thinking the other day how my mind always defaults to the marketability of my product. Saturday when I was finally hitting the sweet spot that I've been aiming for in my aerial video work, the marketing opportunities just kept rolling through my mind. I love the craft of image making, but my instincts always head toward marketability. Saturday evening when I got home and began analyzing the videos that I'd shot that day, I began sending clips off to different clients, the response, on a Sunday yet, was remarkable. I think there is a whole new market to tap out there and it's got me really excited.

I firmly believe that "Nothing happens until somebody sells something". Ahhhh, free market capitalism, gotta love it.
