Welcome, camdenthrasher! Nice opening salvo; I particularly like the BUFF pano. Have you been lurking? This is a great little corner of the web; as Colin might say, The flight is long, but the inflight entertainment is exceptional. Stick around and enjoy the ride.

Thanks Steve, I'm humbled.

Camden, welcome to our little place in the world wide web. May the flight never stop and the entertainment last forever.

Regards, Colin

CT - Let me add my welcome to Steve's and Colin's. Like Steve, I'm partial to your Buff pano - well done. Your website is excellent and the racing images are wonderful. I'm especially partial to your Monochrome and Sebring Twelve Hours portfolios. Not only are there a bunch of wonderfully talented shooters posting herein (yours truly the exception), the camaraderie and friendship are what makes this place special.

Hey Jim - Is the BBJ below one of your clients (Royal Jet)? It came for a quick visit to Willie Friday/Saturday with a potentate doing business with Boeing (i.e. Apaches, Little Birds, etc). Whomever it was, traveled in a motorcade made up of ten black armored Suburbans and a sizable private security escort. When the BBJ departed Saturday afternoon, it was quickly followed by one of Boeing's Bombardier Challenger 600's. I suspect someone was writing some serious checks

Sorry for the less than stellar photos. They were leaving quickly and I wasn't as prepared as I might otherwise have been.

Hi Jeff, yes they are. Saudi based operation. I've captured that jet a number of times during it's life as a livery for the .0001%

They obviously know how to accommodate a unique clientele. Their taste in photographers is also very refined

Glad to see that some folks are spending money on their military. UAE has the most sophisticated F-16's on the planet. Looks like they will be adding some Boeing military assets.

Ahem... Jeff, that is complete bovine serendipity. You have plenty of talent, don't sell yourself short.

Thanks. Someone referenced me to this thread so I figured I would post something. I shoot motorsports for a living but the aviation stuff is just for fun when I happen to be near a show when I'm shooting a car race somewhere. After shooting Reno Air Races last year, I've been on a little more of an airplane kick lately.

Here are a few more from the airshow at MacDill this weekend. Hoping to catch the Blue Angels practice this wednesday as well before St. Pete GP.

Camdenthrasher,
very nice series on your blog. I'm particularly fascinated by the ones where it looks like you shot at the sun and the clouds have a real heat haze quality to them.

I'd love to hear more about how you captured / processed those.

Thanks,
Gero

So I have two questions with respect to said Saudi BBJ and accompanying Bombardier - do they have the range to make it back to Saudi Arabia, or are they likely based in DC for the embassy, and secondly, I note that the tires are not retracted into sealed wheel wells - how do they holdup when the jets are flying at altitude?

Just curious...

Gerov,

The Boeing 737 airliner's mains also retract into unsealed wheel wells. The 737 has been flying commercially since the mid 1960's, and is still in production. If the exposed wheels were an issue, they would have been fixed along time ago.
