I had to turn down a $4000.00 hamburger run for that shot. Butch asked me to go with him to stretch the Citation's legs and get lunch someplace.

Glenn, if I got a RED demo set up in Austin, think we could put together an air to air to beat it up a little? They called me this morning and asked when and where I'd like to put a Dragon through the paces.

Just got an urgent email from my client with the copper dome. Seems the architect, contractor, copper supplier, and a couple of other folks who are involved, are going crazy over the few teaser images I sent to the owner yesterday. The project is pretty spectacular, a huge copper dome, hand laid with incredible detail. Not something that one sees every day. It photographed very well, in spite of the southerly biased winter light.

Whoopee! More clients, the thrill of having your work recognized never gets old.

After doing a lot of work on the farm, I walked down to the creek to see if anything would show up for a photo session. Nothing really but a few Cardinals and Sparrows, and they wouldn't look at me.

Relating to the detail on the dome, it is incredible what you can do with that D810 Jim, spectacular "teaser".

Jim,

I'm very familiar with that copper dome. I love driving by it to visit the "The Library" ever-so-often.

As you should!

It just goes to show how much higher are our standards than 99.94% of the rest of the population.

Thank you Ray, Jeremy and Zim. A nod from you guys means a lot, because I know the benchmark you hold yourselves to.

I have suggested that they have me shoot that again when it's not winter, and the project is complete. My client and long time friend, whose legendary vision turned a run down, infested old mess into that complex, is a wonderful gentleman, it's an honor to have worked with him lo these many years.

Just put the Cub away and I'll turn out the lights at HQ if none of you are coming by ...........

I must have distracted the pilot for a brief moment because at the last minute he made a quick course correction to get back on the centerline

He just wanted to make sure you were catching him from his good side.

BTW, for those of you wondering what ever happened to the aviation extravaganza JR and I had planned for McKinney, thankfully the Good Lord gave us a little extra time to think some of those plans through. Still a lot going on behind the scenes, largely off shore until we see some substantive changes here at home, which we realize may be never. We collectively decided that our genre had a big enough target painted on it, so prudence dictated a much lower key operation for the immediate future and we're comfortably happy with that revision. In many ways, I am much more comfortable with how this is unfolding, than I think I would have been had the flood gates opened when we expected them to. Once again, and daily, I am grateful to my Father Whose Plan is unthwartable, and always better than the ones I come up with

Yesterday early morning was a "Watson" kind of morning. I lifted off in the Cub in still cool air to see a low fog layer laying in the lakes to the south and east of KTKI, and crystal clear air to the north and west. Made for some fun exploring. Couldn't help but imagine what we could have captured air to air if we were having an HQ day with the group. The fog hung in there for several hours after dawn, it would have been perfect. Thought of both Glenn's actually.

A wise man once said, "Low and slow's the way to go."

Digging around the archives this morning and this landscape caught my eye; it was just after dawn, at anchor in a secluded bay on the coast of Nova Scotia. I just like the quiet mood it conjures up.
