New/rebuilt computer back and running well. Only problem, I have reloaded all my Nik suite of plugins and 1. they don't appear in Filters in CS6 2. Siver EfExPro gave me a free upgrade to SEP2 when I bought (downloaded) but I can't seem to find anywhere to get it. Is that because Google now own the suite? Do I have any option but to buy the whole suite again from Google? I've downloaded the Google Demo and it works fine in Filters and I have 13 days to sort this out

Just to double check, we did throw the bar away didn't we?! Impeccable Glenn, in every way. To me, skill wise and logistically, that is your finest effort to date, but what do I know..............

Hey thanks - lots of moving pieces in that photo!

By the way, I haven't had anything to contribute for the last week because I've been aboard SV Pilgrim, just purchased in CT by old friends of mine, helping them sail down the east coast from Oriental, NC, to Port Canaveral, Florida. We were offshore about half that time, and I have the bruises to show for it. The rest of the time we motored down the Intracoastal Waterway. Here's an iPhone snap of Kathryn at the helm, making 8 knots under Genoa and reefed main off Cape Fear.

Any pics of the whole boat? I have no idea what the rest of it looks like. Sounds pretty crazy though!

Yeah, Glenn, I was in the backseat of the 3 jet. This was actually their first official formation practice. They hadn't even decided on a team name yet at that point. The owner paid for the F-4 and TA-4 to go to Oshkosh in 2010, where I met him (he was flying the A-4). After that, he wanted me to work for them so I went up to Pennsylvania to check things out and interview. Interesting weekend, but the gig wasn't the way I live with these airplanes. Got some cool shots though and pulled 6 G's for the first time ever!

Safe travels Glenn. Your imagery should knock them dead at ICAS.

After posting this as a color image - http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/600984/4385#12729272, I got to thinking this Wright R-3350 Duplex-Cyclone might be a good candidate for conversion to monochrome. I wondered if the "gritty" details, textures and contrasts (the things that originally attracted me to photograph this radial engine) might become more impactful if the color was removed. I decided to challenge myself further by making the conversion completely in Lightroom, rather than using my standard workflow with the plug-in - Silver Efex Pro 2 in Photoshop. Nothing wrong with SEP2, but I wanted to explore the full potential for monochrome conversions in LR. I performed the initial conversion using the "HSL/Color/B&W" adjustment module and used the "Split Toning" adjustments to create my interpretation of a platinum/palladium toned image. I also cropped the image from the native 3:2 aspect ratio to a more traditional 5:4/8x10 framing. I wondered if the color version I posted had an "off-center" or "right-heavy" feel in my original framing (no crop used). By going to the 5:4/8x10 crop, I was able to bring the Wright R-3350 more to the center. I'm not 100% convinced that is the best framing to present this subject. I sometimes think that having the primary subject a slightly off-center creates a more interesting image?

Enough said on my end. Comments and criticisms are encouraged and appreciated.
