From what I've seen the couple of times I've been to Colorado, there isn't very much that could be any better

Edit - ToPP - not a plane, but one of the most amazing creatures there is

From your lips to God's ear Gero. That's "The Brat III" in a previous life, I guess me too

We were shooting the 51 and the boys wanted to come along. Hope to do a sequel shot at some point, but we won't all fit in the cockpit anymore.

As I'm sure you know, Jim... it is possible to get a group shot from the root out to the fuel filler cap. I think it would be a fitting temporal snapshot. We'd all appreciate it, I promise!

Couple October photos from an Iowa corn harvest.

Wife's first corn harvest. Reluctant to take the wheel but once she realized it was easy to drive she liked it.

Uncle using a leaf blower to clean combine. Much lower chance of a fire harvesting corn, compared to soybeans, but after another uncle crawled out of burning combine, last fall, it is better safe then sorry.

The Dreamlifter problem reminded me of the C-17 that missed MacDill AFB during a midday landing in July 2012, and instead landed at a small airport about 5 miles away. Oh yeah, Marine General James Mattis, head of U.S. Central Command happened to be on board.

Or the B52 that flew across the Atlantic to do a 2 minute fly by at Farnborough International about 6 years ago and then never appeared for the 50,000 spectators, as it flew over Blackbush airfied, about 3 miles outside Farnborough. One would have thought the lack of stands and only zero spectators might have been a clue - for our British readers - "Should have gone to Specsavers" - interestingly it was a female pilot, I believe!!

Like I said, my CPS experience has been great, haven't needed NPS so I can't say there. My big concern is where canon is headed, and do they know where they are headed. Nikon is a much smaller, muuuuuch smaller company, but I'm getting the distinct impression they have their eye on the ball (at least the one I care about most) with considerably more intensity than Canon. What each of the manufacturers do in the first quarter of 2014 will help me decided where my allegiances will lie. I just ordered a third D800, two additional PC lenses and

Redo on this one. Uncropped it, and added a little more drama.

Oooh, I like it, Tim. I've never noticed the peculiar feature of that wing before, with its form break at the spar, accentuated by the raking light you captured in this shot. Do you know what the deal is with that airfoil?

I saw a fabulous B&W picture of Florence cathedral at our camera club competition on Wednesday - a view along the length towards the dome, presumably taken from one of the towers - must get there sometime.
No flying displays in the UK at this time of year so yesterday evening I was at a nightime shoot at Didcot Great Western Railway Preservation Society. Fabulous evening - here's a taster:

I generally hate crap in photos, but this one tells the story of week with Rare Bear. The constant search for the horsepower they left in TX.

Just another day at "work", captured by Kevin Hong. Thanks Kevin!! Ten minutes from that picture Scott and I would be boring a hole through the combined wake of the Talon and the MiG, a new experience for both of us, checked that box, no need to do that .....uh, ever again.
