I have not dealt with them myself, but know a few people who have. They've had nothing but good things to say about KEH. Mainly they said the condition ratings are either spot on or if anything, conservative i.e., better shape than the rating would lead you to believe.

Hi Paul,

I concur with Erich's assessment. A number of years ago I sold them some of my Blad gear and they were extremely fair and easy to deal with.

I'm spending the day at HQ trying to catch up with Photoshopping and reorganizing my gear for the next onslaught. My RRS Fluid Head came the other day and I just pulled it out of the box, typically RRS, just beautiful! I don't think I'll get a camera on it today, but hopefully soon.

While our brothers are out creating art in Eastern Washington (and don't think Jay's epic image from yesterday doesn't have me thinking about Phase One!!) A potential new client called me from Atlanta yesterday seeking a miracle. They need about ten days of wonderful imagery captured in half that time. Six projects that are extremely important to the CEO, and thus to the marketing department's longevity. Interestingly, they have a photographer, but had seen some of my work recently and spoke with a client of mine in Dallas prior to contacting me. All of my clients understand a crisis, so next week's full week was pushed ahead, and another marathon will begin Monday at dawn. While I don't relish the schedule, and what will be required to pull this miracle off, client's don't forget the photographer who pulled their bacon from the fire, and that's what this venture has been about for 34+ years, seems to have worked up to this point.

Thanks.

Hey Paul - Half my Hasselblad gear was purchased through KEH. I could not be more pleased. In every instance, their "rating" of the used equipment quality/condition was very conservative. In other words, they under-promised and over-delivered. My kind of people. I highly recommend KEH. Give me a call if you want to discuss further.

While you know this better than I, nothing builds client loyalty more than top draw customer service and exceeding expectations. That is why you've been successfully doing this for over three decades Jim. I suspect that most of the competitors who started a photography business when you did have long since gone on to other pursuits. It also doesn't hurt when your clients provide invaluable free promotion. Something I'm sure they don't do for everyone.

Steve,

I take it the gelled flashes were yours. If so good use of them.

All I gotta say is, the fact that I can sit here and continue to prepare presentations for family-business conferences after seeing Jay's A2A, Steve's A2G, and Jan-Arie's/Rich's fast-moving G2A, must mean that I really, really love what I do.

Outstanding work, y'all.

How cool is this. I knew about the flight, and that it never happened.

Great to hear the story behind it. I love the picture with the spray bar water flowing to keep that Merlin cool.

I've bought and sold with them quite a bit. Conservative is a good description. I once bought an 80-200 from them that was listed as fair. When I got it for the life of me I couldn't see a mark on it. Aside from not coming in the original box, I couldn't see anything that wouldn't have made it like new.

I've never had to send anything back to them.

First selects from this morning's A2A with the Erickson Collections Wildcat and Corsair...and Mounts Hood and Jefferson.

For some reason, I can't get EXIF data to show. That first shot is a D800 frame at 300mm and 1/80sec with the 28-300mm VR. I had the 24-70 on the D810, but the subjects stayed a little way off; the last two are from the D810 at 1/60sec.

Terrific work Steve. Image #3 is my current favorite; however, I reserve the right to change my mind as you and Jay post more images. Are you using Slocum's A-36 as your gun ship?

Thanks, but I can't claim credit: those were gelled hot lights set up for the presentation.
