Shooting at Reno is easy. I just follow Tim around, and when he raises his camera ...

What an amazing week at Stead.

^^^^ That Temco never looked so good as it does in your photograph - terrific image Jay. Looking forward to some cool mornings at P08 this fall

I'd like to offer a big Thank You to all who so generously share their work here. Also special thanks to Tim for our annual helping of Reno eye candy.

Oh, nearly forgot also thanks to the Arizona chapter the shipment of jelloair arrived safely and is being put to good use ..

@Tim - as an unabashed 'Rare Bear' fan, I really like this image. You've captured the sensation of that humongous prop in spades. The ghosting effect of the long exposure just adds to the magical feel

Holy cow Matt! I don't care how many megapixels that image is, everyone of them is a beautiful pixel.

Jim,

Thanks so much. It felt good to know when I clicked the shutter it would be a keeper. That does not happen often for me, I seem to have to dig a little to get silk from the sow

Righto, just to prove I was actually in Reno and wasn't lyin', here are some actual pictures!

Now, don't be expecting any beautiful dawn shots, or any zoomy pylon shots either. I went with my husband on holiday and didn't think a media pass would be fair on him, if I abandoned him to a pylon for half the day. However, we spent a lot of time with a bunch of Sport Air Racing League guys who were there :-)

Here's a lovely Spitfire, which I last saw in Duxford many moons ago and didn't realise it had ended up in the CAF's hands.

One of the big boys! I bought a Strega shirt so had better show her off here ;-)

Here's the Sabreliner which was being flown with graceful vigour as a tribute to Bob Hoover.

A few more. I'm expecting a visitor in a few hours so might be erratic after that.

(Anyone going to the Le Mans series racing at COTA this weekend?)

The Australian team (flying an L-39) were easy to spot!

Alan Crawford, Race 21 and one of our SARL guys. He kindly hosted Alan and I at his pit, and got us into the Sunday night banquet at his table.

He had a reeeeealy close race with this lady in front of him on Sunday, but just couldn't quite get by.

Here's the other SARL planes that were there. They each had a few other SARL folks as crew; there were probably twenty SARL guys and gals around the Sport Class pits.

Ernie Sutter, Race 66, Sport Silver (as was Alan C).

Jason Rovey, Race 391, Sport Bronze.

Bob Mills, Race 49, Sport Bronze.

Here's a few from Saturday - Hoot Gibson flying 232 September Fury low and tight on Pylon 2, then a few laps later his engine detonates/backfires and blows up the intake trunk near the home pylon. Hoot performs a perfect emergency landing on 14.
