Exactly Tom! Aside from being just dog ugly, those black wings would melt down here in the summer. Cessna's lack of design sense is exactly why our new bird's factory scheme will be met with a bucket of stripper shortly after delivery. You just couldn't fly the ugly off of that Stationair, ever. The Skylane schemes aren't horribly offensive, but they aren't great either. The interiors are a joke, plastic everywhere. We'll fix that as well.

Well Steve ….. I have the T, helped make the video, and got implicated in the book. Trust me – no amount of money would suffice.

In other news, Sir Donald occasionally puts me out on loan, so this Saturday I found myself at the Scottish National Air Show @East Fortune. A very good day out – I was doing Butler Services for two of our Camera Club lady members. Ice cream was consumed and photons where harvested.

More on the big trip,...its coming together..

On the LA leg ,..I have a friend who has just come back from LA/SanFran/Yoseite/Vegas . He has told me that I am mad to fly fomr LA to Vegas, & that I should definately drive from LA to Yosemite & spend at least a day there then driive through to Vegas..

Has anyone done that part of the country ?? any tips ??,

I'm thinking it might be a day to unwind behind the wheel of a Mustang & grab some nice landscape images..

Minimum of three days: Most of one to drive from LA to Yosemite; one to wake up, be, and go to sleep at Yosemite; and most of another one to drive from Yosemite to Lost Wages.

you would be crazy not to spend a day in Yosemite - it is truly beautiful. And while you're at it, stop by Sequoia National Park, or at least make a point of seeing the Sequoias in Yosemite. Truly majestic trees.

Plan your lodging now, as in right this very minute. Things usually fill up 6-8 months in advance (sometimes 10-11 months for summer reservations), and you'll probably find little-to-nothing available. Some of the places around the parks are dumps beyond belief: for example, stay the hell away from the "Yosemite View Lodge" based on my (shudder) personal experience, and don't ask for details... you don't want to know.

Plan out your driving times, too... those are long distances and the travel times quoted by Google Maps or Yahoo maps will seem very long to you, as though you could drive faster, but the elevation and nature of the roads mean you travel more slowly than on an open, level highway.

I just spent a pleasant half hour reminiscing about Alliance 2011, starting on page 2447. That was the year we first descended on HQ for Thursday; Friday was fabulous; Jim shot the BA jet and the T-38 behind the B-25, in the dark; and Sunday was a washout. Really great stuff from everyone who attended!

It's not even two years later, and we're 1400 pages down the road...
