Wow... no restrictions on boaters in the area?

Yes, they mark out a display box with bouys and chase errant boats out of that area. Glenn's shot is showing the far end of that box as Randy is coming in.

Here's a few from Cedar Creek. Check out the sunspot on the sun! Jim spotted it. I checked it out, it is Sunspot AR1785.

Nice work team!! I was proud to be shooting back up for you! Got home around midnight, showered, passed out, up at 6:30 for church. Began to feel the needles bouncing on empty about a half hour ago. I'm going to take Sheila to dinner, and hug my pillow early. Glad you all got home safe and sound, thank you for lending your talent and enthusiasm to Thunder this year. I've already heard that we're "cleared in hot!" for 2014 if we choose to accept. We'll run those "FLYING" and "National Geographic" folks they kept talking about out of business at this rate!

I've got a PC12 update, but it'll have to wait. Suffice it to say, it's all good.

Thanks again for the loan of your lens, Jim. After reviewing the pictures, I think the operator is much to blame...

I doubt that Jo. TOCC is a difficult venue, light, angles, just about every factor working against a photographer. I'm confident that between the three of us, with Nadya keeping us on the straight and narrow , we'll be able to put together a neat series.

Go to Flightaware.com...bring up the (track and log) portion and look at the airspeeds in the last 2 minutes of the flight.....right before impact the speed goes from 137 to 85 kts.
NTSB saying they got a stall warning right before impact...

85? it goes that low? wow...I had heard 109...even that is low...I believe the NTSB was referencing that the approach speed for a 777 is 137kts.

The Captain requested more speed 7 seconds before impact, 4 seconds before impact the stick shaker went off, and 1.5 seconds before impact they requested a go around...they knew they had blown the approach for a bit.

Looking at that chart though these guys had to know they started their approach to high (and I'm guessing to fast) and tried to make a steeper approach to get to the right altitude, then when you see it level off I would say they needed a power increase to account for the different attitude of the plane.

But what do I know, I've only played with planes on flight simulator

The micro-jet is the BD-5J. Jim Bede manufactured kits of these a number of years ago, first as a pusher prop, and later, the jet version of it. I believe that Coors had several that were called "Silver Bullets".
