Welcome to the thread, Alpha Geist - you won't find a nicer bunch of people most anywhere else, so strap yourself in and enjoy the ride. Of course, we'll hope to see more of your images. You're off to a fine start.

Thank you both! It looks like I have over 4000 pages of this thread to go through, haha! (I guess that's what lunch breaks are for. Just don't tell my boss!)

Sure, it's in the 4,000 pages, um and that is the sequel, there's a pretty good sized MA2A 1.0 too BTW, where is 1.0?

Canon EOS 7D, f/20 @ 400 mm, 1/100, ISO 100

It is here: http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/462776/0?keyword=mustang#3971768

October 15, 2006 to December 23, 2007. Only 125 pages.

We just generated 100 pages in our current thread over the past 3 months, but that is slacking. Over the 6 years this thread has been active, we've averaged over 650 pages per year. Back in 2006-2007 we had only 100 pages in our first year.

You can get to it by going to the City, Street & Architecture forum index page. In the upper right there is a drop down menu titled "Time Machine" with 'Current site' as the default. I went to the year before you began the sequel, 2006 and found it.

And since the Sequel started, we have had 339 members, unless I have missed someone that was here for a short time.

I'm very impressed with the content of character from the posters here. It's very refreshing!

Thank you for the very warm (and educational!) welcome.

I'm assuming the reason for the 1/60th corsair shutter speed is because the the prop is spinning at a lower RPM than a "normal" prop driven craft? If I remember correctly, the F4U Corsair has a larger engine (shorter carrier take off?) with a three bladed prop (as seen in Wrei's 1/100 photo). Also, if the pilot is also looking off into space when stopped/taxiing and can't see the immediate runway, that means a fairly large (diameter) prop. So slower rpm, but coupled with higher torque and greater pitch = slower shutter speed (than 1/80th)?

Just trying to make some sense in my head here. :P

The warbirds are tough for sure, due to their slow turning huge props. Depending upon power settings sometimes you have to drop below 1/60th which really gets challenging. Some of our folks here can shoot at amazingly slow shutter speeds. My experience has been, some days I can, some days I can't, just depends on how steady and in sync you are that day.

I was surprised to see it that small too. But the last post on the old thread was Dec 23, 2007, and Jim got this thread started on Dec 27. So we didn't lose anything in the transition.

Given the old thread was just 14 months long, and in 2007 we barely got through 200 pages, it doesn't look like we would have had enough time in the old thread to run 500 pages.

Also, I think that over the years the number of posts per page when up dramatically, and I believe that also affected the older archived threads. We're 20 posts per page now, and that's what I find in MA2A #1.
