Good Evening Boys and Girls,

I see our Austin Prodigy has been off making history! Congratulations Glenn, well done my friend! You can't sleep with that grin on your face tonight, you'll drool all over the place!

Zim, wish I could help. I'm still re-reading the IS/Non-IS rules!

Nighty Night Jan Arie!

Mark, Unfortunately that is a misrepresentation of the facts, what a surprise. SOmething that the lamestream media has no interest in reporting is the cost to run an NFCT v. a pork laden FAA facility. The NFCT at KTKI, with six controllers costs just a bit over 500K annually, lock stock and barrel. Addison, with an FAA facility and a similar traffic count, runs more than three times that amount. If you were a business man, or if you had half a brain, wouldn't you have privatized all the towers in the country and reduced your cash outlay by 75%? I understand the 12 month lag in the current situation, but why the heck didn't they privatized the whole mess decades ago? Of course, the simple answer is, just like congress, we have the wolves guarding the hen house. Same reason "Affordable" healthcare is great for us, but for members of congress, not so much.

Please would a "Progressive" tell me how happy they are with the healthcare act, a year before it actually takes full effect, given the "uninsurable" guaranty clause has already gone broke and been dissolved? Additionally, what we were sold as a $2,500 average per family savings has now turned into a 30 to 80 % increase in premiums, and a program that was touted to cost 900 million, now that it's been passed has been outed by the GAO as 2.3 trillion? If a conservative was running this team there would be blood knee deep in the streets, but it barely makes the back page in today's news climate. I don't get it, .....................obviously.

Thanks ya'll. I finally knocked on the right door and got a ride on the Collings B24 to shoot the fighters today between tour stops. While its nice to be in charge thats obviously not possible here but I still scored some cool shots. It was a hoot riding on the 24 by itself, much less having the fighters buzzing the window. Always impressed by tight formation flying and those guys are top notch. Tried like heck but couldnt put together a head on - guess you always have to keep a goal for next time. Might as well add a broken layer at sunset while i'm at it. Dream big right?

Jim, was going through this site below, and it occurred to me to ask about that the little girl you spoke of last year that had the tumor in her arm. How is she doing?

Makes me very glad I didn't have to fight insurance companies and their bean counters on top of everything else we were going through.

Good Morning Laura,

My niece is doing fine, thanks for asking. Her Dr. is a specialist at Northwestern in Chicago and she has her on a 90 schedule for thorough check ups. No recurrence of any cells.

What a Happy face, Jim. Smiles like that are what it's all about.
Was in Mesa AZ, for a one eighth scale meet. Or Son took home the trophy for builders excellence, with his FW190. The weather was almost perfect, no snow....

Folks, please do excuse my long absence. Lord knows I've missed the people here, and this conversation, and the images... oh, the images... but duty has called. I'm happy to report that things are going quite well in all areas, and good things have been happening. I've just got a fuller plate than I can easily handle, that's all.

I'll even (gasp) have a few images to share with you all soon.

Thanks man much appreciated I wish, no Air to Air this year, luckily I was able to secure one trip to the UK this summer for the Flying Legends at Duxford so Ill get my fix of piston engined fighters, for the rest saving my cash for next year maybe then i can pull something off..... that 262 is something else hey was lucky to visit the Stormbirds in Seattle in 2005 I think it was, Together with my father to see that one up close and personal never seen it fly do, they have one in Germany but that one doesn't appear much outside of Germany I believe.
Lucky for this great group that is willing to share all those great experiences.

Don't eat to much easter eggs

Tried some of the sharpening tips from the Isap magazine I think it worked rather well

Wishing all of you a Peace filled Easter weekend. All of our Grands voted to head over as soon as school let out on Thursday, so we fired up the pool heater and wore the backyard out. We do a little thing where the older kids pass the Bible around and read the Easter story to the littler ones, each one of them has a a Scripture verse to memorize and give, then we head out for the annual Easter egg hunt. When that was over everyone headed for the 90 degree "ceeement pond" (Jed Clampett) and a good time was had by all. I was swimming laps when Halle jumped on my back, put her arms around my neck and yelled to her sister, "Faith, look, I'm going for a whale ride!" I'm still trying to figure out a way not to take offense at that! I swam laps with Halle, then Faith decided it looked like fun so she "rode the whale" for a while as well. Someone remind me over the next three or four days that I did all that, and I'm not dying of something.

Chandler spent the afternoon trying to do back flips and hold a Hero3 at the same time............Proving one thing for sure, the Hero is not a flattering portrait camera!

Further musings concerning the new Nikon 80-400 VR. I'm absolutely convinced of the quality of the lens for fixed subjects; however I haven't had much luck at all with panning. Now, mine is not the greatest panning technique on this forum, far from it, but I usually manage to get a decent hit rate at any reasonable shutter speed...and sometimes I get lucky with the not-so-reasonable shutter speeds, too. But so far I haven't managed a decent shot of anything in motion at less than 1/400 sec when shooting at the longer focal lengths.

I'm going to rent this lens from LensRental ( they have 7 copies ) for the long weekend that I'm going to NC to shoot ducks at http://shwpark.com/ once again April 18th - 21st, rather than take my 600mm.

I'll certainly wait on purchasing this though if it isn't a lens that can be used for action shots. If that's the case, then the old 70-200mm and old 80-400mm that we have will continue to work just fine.
