Remarkable. I think I found my next book.

Thanks for sharing this

My pleasure!

I have come across this story before, and it's always good to hear it again. Nice job of the video they made of this retelling. I also notice a bit of jello wriggling in their camera mounted in the nose turret...

I couldn't remember if I'd heard the story on MA2A before, so I figured I'd post it.

I noticed that, too. They should have called up Jim to rent a 4x4 to smooth out their aerial imagery. (;

Want to add my thanks Paul as well. I've had that book in my Amazon shopping list for a while, great to see the video too.

Hey, does anyone have a photo of this T-6? Probably based around Colorado somewhere.
http://www.warbirdregistry.org/texanregistry/snj-112023.html

I need one to put onto the Sport Air Racing League's website. The owner, Leonard Felix, won Heavy Metal Silver this year but I didn't go to the race(s) he attended. I need a decent photo for the front page banner but it needs to fit in a wide and short space, like this:

Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

That's really nice James. Has a "3D" feel to it without being over-cooked...

I'd be inclined to do a little masking of the background from about mid-canopy back and see if I could tweak it with some blur to force a little depth of field change...

Thanks! Now there's a challenge for me, my masking skills have never been too good but its never to late to learn new skills. I suppose it will help justify my CC subscription. Will get back to you with the results

Looks like Duxford to me, maybe hangar 3 or 4. Nice shot. Those hangars are COLD at this time of year....!

James, that is a beauty! I can smell the 80 octane/120 weight wafting through the air.

I pulled myself from a warm bed and four hours of sleep this morning, so I could be ready for a pre-dawn shoot an hour northwest of Dallas. My Father rewarded me with this for the effort...................

Jim, I wanted to post and say that that's magnificent, but if I did I'd be guilty of announcing the obvious.

Thanks Wrei! I enjoy every one you post. I spent last night at a Christian conference in Grand Prairie, but I have to say, standing alone in the still cold morning, in front of that display, made the conference pale.

Thanks Ernie, glad you enjoyed it!

As I stood there a wide body out of AFW cut across that sky, banking to the east. I was tempted to grab the 800 for a spectacular shot, but that voice I've learned to listen closely to said, "Just enjoy and take it in...."

The eye often makes a better camera and the mind a better recording device...

Glad you still resorted to Plan B though and shared.

Right you are Jay. Wasn't a distraction because I was set up to shoot two model elevations exactly 180 degrees from that canvas. All I had to do was rotate the Gitzo head and mash the button.

That was taken from a new Hillwood community, Ross is going to love that shot.

This was the view the other direction. Hosing down sidewalks at 5 in the frigid am is not the fun part of the job but when the sky unfolds like it did the morning, it's very gratifying.

...and sunrise reflected in the windows. Jim, nobody but us is going to believe you didn't paste that sunrise in, in Photoshop. Got to be one of my favorite architecture shots of yours, and that's going some.
