Mark, so sorry to hear that your week has been so horrible. I hope you did go out and photograph the paw prints in the snow, it will remind you of all the paw prints in your heart.
Since my parents in law couldn't make the trip out here for the funeral due to their age, I grabbed my video camera and had someone set it up on a tripod at the church, then again at the cemetery, and then I burned it to a dvd and sent it to them after making sure the sound was good enough throughout. One thing you'll want to check into is whether they use a live bugler or the recording, for Taps. For me, the recording would have been an insult to him, so i asked a musician friend to help me find someone who would play it live. There's also volunteers out there, http://www.buglesacrossamerica.org/ that I found through this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqLljJRbgmE
Ruht roh, caught at TOPP...
Thanks Laura. Colin's idea was a good one, but the last couple of days we were away had been warm. I went out today to find the melting had pretty much taken care of the paw prints.
Great idea on the bugler. I'll have to remember to check and see if they need help finding one when the date approaches. I understand Arlington is still working on October deaths, so it will probably be April or May at the earliest.
