I went to Atlantic City on Friday for a short airshow, F-22, F-35B, MiG-17, ...When I finally got around to edit the pictures few hours ago, I found a few interesting shots of the F-22 in which it made a small swirl. I don't recall seeing this phenomenon before. The organizer said Friday wasn't a rehearsal, it was a real show. But it was actually a rehearsal. The F-22 popped a single flare just once, vs. multiple flares at the show on Sat and Sun. Anyway, I am very happy with what I got of the F-22.

Thank you gentlemen! Ray, thank you for the information!
June will be a busy airshow month.
1. This coming weekend there will be the WWII Weekend in Reading, Pa, all warbird stuff, I am not sure I would go to that one.
2. June 13-14 will be the Ocean City show, Thunderbirds, F=-35A, French AF Patrouille de France (have never seen them before),
3.Columbus Airshow 2026: Thunderbirds, F-35A, P-38.... The main reason I am going is it will be a later afternoon show. I love the lighting in late afternoon for airshow. I will skip the NAS Patuxent River Air Show because it's on the same weekend as the Columbus Show.
4. Baltimore Fleet Week: Blue Angels, RAF Red Arrows, French AF Patrouille de France, F-16 demo
A few more from last Friday in Atlantic City:...Show more →
Just before diner, I saw the Patrouille de France crossing UK airspace.
I imagine they need a lot of fuel stops along the way.
J-A, the first show of the Patrouille de France in the U.S. will be in Ocean City, Maryland on June 13/14, it's 150 miles from where I live, I will go for a day. Then on June 27/28, they will perform with the RAF Red Arrows, Blue Angels and the F-16 demo in Baltimore, Maryland, only 25 minutes drive from where I live. It's the closest airshow for me ever. On July 4th, they will participate in the huge flyover in Washington DC. So I will get to see them 3 times. I have never seen the French team before. I have seen the Canadian team, the UK team and the Italian team a few times. They are outstanding teams and very entertaining. For me personally, I prefer the tight formations of the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds, and the real fighter jets they fly. I read that the RCAF Snowbirds will be grounded for a long time after this season and the Reds are reducing the number of jets in the team.
The best place to see the airshow is Fort McHenry. I have been there a few times for airshows. Park you car on a street near by and walk over there. It's part of the Maryland Fleet Week. I think it will be cool to watch both the French team and the British team in the same show. I highly doubt we will ever see that again. They are here for the 250th anniversary celebration. I will be dead by the 300th anniversary.
I will send you my contact info as the date gets closer. Will be great to meet up with you.

Excellent - many thanks, Douglas. Let's hope for nice weather!

That's some dramatic cloud, Jim!
He said they will try to make it to the Columbus Ohio show 2 weeks from now!
I am going to the Columbus, Ohio show less than 2 weeks from now. Regardless whether this F-4 will make it there, I am going anyway. The F-4 flying will be a HUGE bonus if it happens. I am skeptical about it.
Randy Ball had a post on FB about the future heritage flights at airshows with the CF F-4. I told him I had a few of his flights with the F-4 at Ellington so he asked me to post some, Good time to revisit them...
I think this was Randy's first time in the air with this pilot so they maintained quite a distance from each other. Hard to get both of them up close with the 400mm.
Really cool shots, Ray. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will make it to the Columbus show this month. Fighterjets Inc's website still lists F-4D for Columbus show, which is only 12 days from now. In one of their videos posted few days ago, they did say they would try to make it to Columbus. That was before the F-4 took to the air yesterday. So it seems things are moving along.
That particular F-4 was in our unit back before we were upgraded to the F-16.
I hope they are able to fly in closer formation when you see them. They maintained at least several hundred feet separation during their show, but it was still a great sight.
I would love to see the F4 fly. Hopefully they will make multiple shows.
I would also love to see a F4 today. This aircraft, and the "Sandy's", was my CAS for 2 years! A childhood friend was a "driver" in 1970 and 1972 out of Udorn RTAB.

Love the F4 Ray! I can still hear the "screach" as it swoopes down to deliver its ordinance on target!

Now THIS is drama Jim!!!!!!!
Beautiful composition here!
Dan
I will be glued to the "boob tube" since I will not be able to attend any festivities in DC or JB Andrews.( aircraft and air crews will be flying out of JBA for the "Capital 4th" celebration)..
I hope members here that will be attending any airshows will share their images here for us that cannot attend.
