Steve, mono for me if going for the gloominess of winter.

Jim, it depends on the venue on whether or not badged access gets you the goods. I know with the shots I did during shuttle missions, without badging you really had to work to get good stuff. Nothing beats up close though. With airshows, I can see your point having been on both sides of the rope.

TEASER ALERT - Yesterday, I covered the official Marine Corps F-35B basing and re-designation ceremony in Yuma for Southwest Aviation Review (SoAR). I will be writing an article and providing images for publication in the week following Thanksgiving. It was a historic ceremony wherein VMFA-121, formerly an F/A-18 Hornet squadron, re-designated as the Corps' first operational F-35 squadron. It was an honor to be there. I'll provide a link to the article and images when complete.

You have a good point Brian. Stuff like the shuttle missions require credentials to get the best imagery for sure. I guess in most cases, it never hurts to have a badge hanging around your neck. The options are a little wider.

fair point, but it sure as heck is a lot easier on the eyes than the concept that Boeing produced for the competition...

Thanks Jim and Bill for the kind comments. Attending a formal Marine Corps ceremony like this was a very special privilege for me. I was honored to be in the presence of such great Americans who serve our country so faithfully.
