I think the weather is going to hold for the flyin tomorrow .. Not many folks know, are concerned about this great event, most people in MD are more interested in getting to the beach and for the PREAKNESS .... fingers crossed for ORB

yes! How did you like shooting out of the T6? Was this with your 4x4 attached?

Shooting out the back of the T-6 was pretty sweet, Glenn. A 24mm shot would include a bit of wing and the tip of the horizontal stab, but that gives you an idea how wide the frame can be. This T-6 has a swivel seat: I had it facing aft the whole time. Very comfortable, and there's a large sheet metal shelf under the turtleneck where you can stow a bag. I had the D800+24-70 f/2.8 mounted on the Kenyon 4x4, and the 1DX with the 70-200 f/2.8II IS. Barely used the latter.

I have only two minor complaints: I never had both subject aircraft in the viewfinder at the same time; and I couldn't fly the T-6 facing backwards.

Awesome!

rear facing open canopy T6 aerobatics are a hoot as well - the loop is really exciting coming down the back blind...

Um, Glenn? Don't tell that T-6, but it's got an, ummm...ah...ugly growth where the vertical stab should be...

And, yes: pulling 3-1/2 g when the holding the D800 with the Kenyon attached, while facing backwards is, ah, uncomfortable. Especially since the pilot didn't warn me.

Steve Sooo what can I say I say a Job well done.
Even with overcast I think the colors are very nice.
And a very cool P51 to beat.

Very fitting the B25 over the water with the navy vessel in the background.
Considering it's history with the fleet air arm in the second World War...

Steve, lovely; c'mon Jay, let's see 'em!

Here's more on that BK Bird for Curtis. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brunner-Winkle_Bird Looks like you have the model B with the Kinner engine.

ISAP member Matt Booty took this of me while I was trying on the T-6 for size yesterday. A very pleasant office chair. Roomy. Comfortable. Nice view.

What a great shot of you Zim! The sixes I have been asked to use as a platform haven't had the rotating seat, a huge disadvantage. The six cockpits are great, so roomy you feel like you could run around in them.

I'm not sure if you folks approve of videos on this board but, given the subject matter, I think you may enjoy this:

A buddy of mine, John, took me up for some aeros in a Bulldog the other day. We took off from, and returned to, Kemble aerodrome in the Cotswolds, UK, flew to take a look at my house, then John practiced over the Marlborough Downs. Hope you like it.

I used my Olympus OM-D and Rokinon 7.5mm fish eye.

I was able to chat with the owner / pilot of the BK Bird this morning before they headed back to Long Island with a stop over in Cape May for gas.

This one was built in 1930 and first sold in 1931. He has an actual photo of it and 4 other Birds in a line he said and this was the only one in the photo that you could see the registration number on.

It's got a 24 gallon tank .. I'm thinking he's got the 90 hp as he said there is a 100 hp engine that runs thru 5.5 gallons of fuel an hour. He used 10 gallons from Cape May to Horne Point, MD.

He ended up taking another guy back ( photog who shot the Bamboo Bomber pilot for an antique fly in calander ) as the 150 that was going to trail him back to Long Island had a full load of fuel and with the soft field, 3 BIG guys in that plane was more than a notion .. so they split up the load.

A few more of it from this morning ...... yes, it has the KINNER engine

The rain started around 1130 and in the next 1.5 hours almost all planes had left !!

It was pouring out there but I was bound and determined to wait on the T-50, and I got soaked !! Luckily I had put on a larger insulated shirt, so it covered my camera bodies while wearing the Black Rapid dual camera harness.

But .. Do You Want The Shot or Don't You ??

Curtis, in the next-to-last shot, is that guy on the ground controlling a giant scale RC RV4 that's taxiing?
