Don't normally post anything here, but I want a quick reaction about the following image. I normally never do PS actions, but was messing around the other day and when I saw this I really liked it. I made a small print to show the family, and they just gave me a "huh?" kind of reaction.
So what do you think? Lame or kind of cool?
The pic is of my boy's feet on a beach boardwalk.
Here's a quick B/W on the shadow. Doubt this is the best way to do it, but at least it is not blue. Per washing the feet, can't do that because it's called SANDY Feet. Thanks for the feedback.
I like it better with the gray shadow as well. I like it and I understand the fact that the feet are close to you Makes it special even if no one else agrees but I think several people have said that they do it fact agree. I'm a big fan of constructive criticism because it definitely helps everyone out in the long run. I'm not sure if you could dodge the area on top of the left foot or if you could change it to a more sandy brown color instead of blue-green.
I like it, and I like the color of the shadows. I dont know if I would be trying to make an image like this look more realistic. sometimes when people have to stop and go "huh?" for second it is a good thing. Of course if they never stop going "huh?" maybe you are missing something.
I am heartened and encouraged with the kind responses. I am leaning with David on this one. I lighteded the shadow and it was OK, but I prefer the more cartoony version. As David pointed out, why go for reality on an image like this? Also, when I tried to dodge the shadow on the foot, it was a mess. There is simply too much texture there... Here is the original (see how dark the top of the foot is).
In any case, in the end, it is only for my enjoyment and I am happy how it is. Thanks again and I will be sure to come back and both share my images and give an opinion or two.
