can anyone point out a couple of books on digital darkroom / postprocessing for a newbie ?
I think I don't use all Lightroom potentiality due to the lack of solid bases / workflow understanding: last but not least I'm an amateur so I would love a balance between a "pro & selling" and a "holiday shooter" profile.
Mastering Digital Black and White: A Photographer's Guide to High Quality Black-and-White Imaging and Printing (Digital Process and Print) (Paperback)
by Amadou Diallo
this is an up to date book, quite useful esp for B/W conversion and printing for high quality/fine art printing.
also Michael Reichman's "from camera to print" download video series at Luminous Landscape is quite up to date and thorough.
Martin Evening's Lightroom book is very good as well as Mikkel Aaland's Lightroom Adventure for just LIghtroom help. There are also a lot of online Lightroom tutes out there now that may help
I also have the Diallo book but wonder if that would be one of the best for the OP. I'd like to hear more about DeWolfe's book as I've considered it--but since my local B & N rarely has any of the more advanced photography workflow books, I order everything online--and haven't found a really good description of this book.
