Hi everyone,
As you probably noticed, we just went through a hurricane in the code.
If you find any bug on the current code, please post it here and we will fix it asap.
Thanks!!
Fred

Clicking on the black arrow to the right of the last poster doesn't bring up the last post most of the time. Sometimes it does but usually it goes to the top of the last page. It's a minor nit but it is a nit.

1. member post count not working
2. after a post is made to a thread we used to be returned to bottom of page....viewing new post, but now we are returned to the top of page

BTW, I have been using the site for well over a year now, and I never noticed that arrow or knew what it did. I also don't like the way it says 1, 2, 3... last. Wouldn't it be more informative for it to say
1, 2, 3...423, end
That way the end link would be explicit, we could get rid of the shy arrow thing and also see how many pages there are before visiting the thread. Just a thought.

That is a great idea Richard. On your example, perhaps once clicking on "423" you would be taken to the last "post" as well.
We could replace the word "Last" with your example: "423"
It would look like: [1] 2 3 ... 423
Predictability is an important part of usability. I think it would be inconsistent to go to page top with previous numbers but page bottom with the last. I prefer
1, 2, 3...108, end
that way the functionality is clear, even to beginners like myself, and you also have the choice to go to top or bottom of last page. many will prefer top as it often helps to re-read where the thread went before reading the last comment. There will be less arguing and tangents and me-too posts if people are allowed to link to the top as well.

That works for me as well. We may have to shorten the subject line a little more as there will be more words on that space and it's very tight. It may not be a problem though.
For example. On the Buy and Sell board there is a thread with thousands of posts. It would look like this:
Re: All Positive & Neutral... 1, 2, 3...40595, end
Depending on how big the subject line is, the more we add to that space the more the changes of getting the subject going to 2 lines.
Not a bug - but a similar facility on "My recent posts" would be nice any time you have the time and energy
But can I say on behalf of everyone - thanks for the site and the effort you have made at this time of year to sort out the issues you have had - and Merry Christmas (UK style greeting )
a few ones everyone might have noticed:
- the last post info is wrong (both the poster and the time) on the main forums page
- the post count does not change anymore (already 2 days for me)
an annoying bug to me
- I cannot edit my profile (access forbidden message)
