Well Doug, another year of viewing your exquisite eagle captures! Some fine, super fine, work here. But only 2 b expected from the "camera brush" on your canvas.
Happy Holidays!
Dan
I've been lurking here quite awhile and was wondering if I could pick your brain for some advice?
Mark
Thank you Mark, I'm not sure what you will find if you start picking at my brain...but ask away, I'll help if I can, if I don't know the answer, I'm sure someone on here will.

Thank you for the extremely generous comments Dan. I'm always trying to get better, and words such as yours, give me something to strive for. I'm glad you enjoyed them.
I don't know where you shoot but are you familar with the dubuque/fulton area? If so, I shot from the dam on both sides. Are there any places that are better or worth visiting that you are willing to share?
The other question is I'll be going to the dubuque area in late Jan. I'm trying to figure out what a good lens would be. I'll be renting it so I have a choice between 300.2.8 IS (Which I think is too short), 400 2.8 or a 500, Also TC's are an option. Any advice on what the best 'weapon' would be?
Thanks for taking the time to reply, I really do appreciate it.

Hi Mark, I'm familiar with both areas, and both are pretty good. As far as suggesting a lens, any of the three you mentioned will work. If you get the 300 2.8, I'd put a 2x on it, with the 400 2.8 or a 500 4.0, a 1.4x should get you there. I use a 500 with a 1.4, sometimes it's a bit too long, but most of the time it serves my purpose well. Good luck.
Great series Doug . I haven't been able to post or even look at the forum much lately. But its great to see your eagles again! . Hopefully work will slow down enough to get shootin again.
Awesome awesome pictures...I love the sequence 5, 6, and 7...
One day I will be able to capture those . Given the conditions you are in those really came out very very nice!! Some of the best I have seen here .
