Thats a lovely piece Carrol, I'm wondering if some dodging and burning wouldn't make it a little more dramatic, and heighten the excitement? Maybe a little more blurring of the background as well?
Just out of curiosity, did you shoot this with a strobed flash or some other method?

I have the exact same metronome! Curious on your color selection and how you achieved the stop motion. I like the angle you shot this at and the crop. Great idea!

Hi Carrol
Theres nothing mediocre about this shot especially as people are already wondering how you did it !!
Personally i would have liked the colour of the wood but i am old fasioned and love the grain in woods.
Take care and best of luck

Certainly not a mediocre image here, Carrol! I love the sepia and the way you captured the ticking of the metronome. i grew up with one of these things so I appreciate it a lot!

All best wishes,

Endre

I to appreciate this piece as I still use the Met today. Not this one of course, but definitely use one. A very fine piece here and actually one of my favorites. I do wish I could see a bit more of the definition. Although I like the feel of it, It looks a bit bright and could benefit from what Jaz was stating. Either way, this is nice

Hi Carrol,

This is a great shot. Nothing mediocre about it at all. I really like the metallic color that the sepia provides. Very nice work and good luck this week.

This is very nice Carol. I like the way you've captured the moving arm. Did you use multiple flash firings to capture this? The sepia tone gives it an old time feeling. Well done!
