It's a shame really. The alt image thread used to be a one-stop-shop for viewing images created with all types of gear, which was great for discovering new lenses and of course seeing the many different styles the great photographers here have. And before the alt board was fractionalized, there a better sense of community here IMO. Anyways, let's try to keep it going!

I got away from posting in this thread ... not because I'm not using alts, but because I'm doing more PP'ing than I felt was a fair representation of the glass. Part of the reason I like the alts so well, is because of how well corrected they are (the ones I've chosen) which means less correction, more creation in PP to S&P to taste. For others, they like the alts because of their inherent "character" ... good reasons either way.

I figure alt users aren't interested in my PP, they want to see the glass in its more 'natural' state. I spend more time in PC forum these days, but I haven't forgot the gang over here either. If you can handle a x-post or two and some PP (always disclosed), I'll see about tossing a few more this way.

Here's an Oly 18 vertical pano on a Kodak SLR/c from Horseshoe Bend. 4 images, three for the vertical pano +1 for exposure composite.

Rusty -- Thanks for posting!

I don't think anyone will mind PP. I see a lot of shots throughout the Alt threads, some of which are heavily PP'ed, more than I would ever do. But they are still from Alt origins and often very striking finished images.

Hello everyone! I'm glad I dropped in here. I recently sold almost all of my m4/3 gear to come back to a dslr. Now instead of getting mainstream lenses I decided to go all legacy save the 85/1.8 Canon for my ever energetic 2 year old. I'm really loving everyone's photos here! mann_p, nice gear choice. The 5D + Rokkor 58/1.2 is a match made in heaven, IMO. If I could have only one camera and lens it is those that I would keep.

Everyone else, I am lurking quite a bit recently and glad to see this thread has survived. You all continue to post some really beautiful work.

The photography bug is nibbling at me once again, although I am taking many more photos with my mind than with my cameras... Spending tons of time in the middle of the bush these days. I really need to take my camera along with my guns.

Thanks, Cogitech. I really do think I've made a good choice in the 58/1.2. I went through four legacy 50/1.4 brands before settling on one- given the skyrocketing prices of f/1.2 lenses today and a limited budget I thought it's now or never.

You should really bring along your camera in the bushes. You'll never know when you'll come across something beautiful.. then you would be shooting something else entirely

Nice Rokkor 58 samples mann_p! Love this lens camera combo too.

At the moment I play a lot with my new toy, a "boring" Sigma YS 135mm/2.8 with its extra "macro" helicoid. But as soon as one use this macro helicoid not only for macro, one can alter the bokeh rendering :-)

Autumnal weather here in London and I've just received an adapter that lets me use Olympus OM lenses (purchased mostly for use with an OM-2n) on my Canon 5Dc.

What to do? Go out and take pictures, of course...

This selection were all using an OM Zuiko 24mm f/2.8, which is lovely on full frame.
