Does a G9 count as alternative? It seems like it to me because I usually use a DSLR. anyway, it's been way too long since anything's been posted here. (The grass isn't overexposed, it's covered with frost.)

Had a business trip to Indianapolis yesterday. Got a chance to go out Monday night and a little today before I left. I had my 1Ds II and kit with me, but felt like taking the E-P1 out instead. All shots are with the Panny 20/1.7 and the Voigtlander 40/1.4 Nokton.

Rokkor 58mm at 1.2.

Really happy with this one as there was no frikkin light in the room. Shot at 1.2 ISO 1600.

Lucky to have hit the focus.

Thanks Gary, I'm liking it much more than the nikkor 50 1.2 AiS. The focus is just so buttery smooth.

That shot looks like a simple, 'so what's the big deal' shot ... until you realize f1.2 @ 1600.

NICE JOB. Excellent work taking a tough shot and making it look easy ... maybe a 'little' luck on the focus, likely to have been mixed with a 'lot' of skill !!

I have taken bunches of these simple shots where the focus is off just a hair, lots of luck indeed.

The cool part is that the Rokkor finds light where there really is none. This room was really dark.

Great DOF, great tonality and nice colours.

I didn't wwant this lens, as I have sigma 50/1.4 and 50/2 Summicron.
So please don't post any more great shots with the Nokton!, it'll just lead me to have another 50ish lens

Sometimes all you want is a brilliant sunset to try out a new camera/lens... unfortunately mother nature didn't want to cooperate today.
It was also very windy and cold, quite out of character for this time of year.

M9, Zeiss 25mm Biogon (coded as 24 Elmarit ASPH), f/11, blend of two exposures 2eV apart, Kenko Vernier CPL

Sorry about the blue & yellow noise, this camera suffers a little from moire artifacts in my (older) version of C1, and I exacerbated it by pushing the yellow and blue channels while desaturating red...
