What's been your impression of the s90 so far for street shooting?
I'm looking at getting one for precisely that so I figure your opinions are going to be the most relevant -as in speed & useablity NOT IQ is the primary concern

Nice shots Leon and Spyro. Funny, I tried a s90 and was disappointed with the IQ. I felt the gap with Oly Pen and Pana GF1 was too large and steered me in that direction.

Thanks Philber. I've been searching for a capable PnS for the occasions a 5D is intrusive/inconvenient. Can you elaborate on why S90 disappoints you?

Leon, it was not disapppointing per se, as if it were "bad". I just felt that the performance of the micro 4/3 was so much better as to justify the price difference and then some. That is a personal judgement depending among others parameters on what size/weight/cost is deemed acceptable for a "small" system.
From memory, the key differences were colour, contrast and absence of visible defects (distortion, CA). I tried the Pen and GF1 with a prime 20mm f:1.7

I went for a walk with the kids and dog yesterday. My wife had the 5D, shooting Christmas portraits all day, so I brought along my new-to-me beater 10D that I picked up recently for cheap. Had the Rokkor 58/1.2 and FD 35/2 with me.

New bridge here in Waterford, known locally as 'The Cat Flap'.

Oly Zuiko 55mm ƒ1.2 @ƒ5.6 20sec 5DMKII ISO 320. Some nice short star trails in the original.

Some wonderful stuff on this page! Dmitri, great tonality on that smoke shot. Paul, love the fall colors. Seems like we're a bit further along in Montreal - hardly any leaves remaining. Ronan, the symmetry really makes that shot a looker.

M8 + Voigtländer 28/2:

I'm really impressed with the very low distortion of this lens! Of course it'll be worse on FF, but probably still very good. The last one is corrected for distortion, but the second is not! Those are at f/2.8, while I don't remember aperture for the first shot. Probably f/2.8-4.

Also wondering is it a bush fire or a controlled burn there. I know Summer in Australia can often bring bad fires.
