I've been meaning to post a proper set from my travels around Thailand and Laos last Dec-Feb for something like 9 months.

Here's a couple of the pan's I have bothered to stitch:

All shot on a 20D with Tamron 17-50, except for one where mentioned.

Most from around Um Phang, a remote town towards the western edge of Thailand - Near-ish to the border with Myanmar. Last one is from Vang Vieng - Laos PDR.

Real nice panos Empire and Jim! -Jim, same for the pano you made with the 28/2.8 Distagon. I had recently picked up the Distagon with the idea of using it for panos, but still waiting for the adaptor. I need a lens in the 50-60mm range for the same purpose. Hadn't thought of the Zeiss 60 makro-planar. Looks real good. Tack sharp, nice punchy colors, excellent clarity, flatfield. Hmmm.

Thanks for everyones comments on the Pano.I find that macros work great for panos.No distortion and sharp.Here is a grab with the Makro Planar and 5D

Nice panos Jim. I have been getting into panos lately myself, something I haven't done much of at all with DSLR's. This one here is about 51mp, (Which isn't actually all that big these days!) and is currently getting printed 24"x96"...

I loved Laos very very much even though I spent 12 days badly sick in an a tiny dust-bowl town in the poorest part of the country (which is saying something...).
The bad memories disappear and the good ones are left

Laos is a beautiful country and the people are really great. There are some nasty political and racial problems which are not known about outside the country unfortunately.

I particularly remember new years eve in the capital since there was lots of machine gun carrying people in ragged clothes hanging around.

Helimat, that' an awsome panorama! I'd love to see it huuuge

I remember having a look at some of those pics on flickr, pretty crazy stories..
Definitely a wierd situation but I can see how it arose.. Doesn't mean I like the Laotian 'leaders' for what they are doing >:|
