RustyBug... you're asking a tough question to an amateur.
The fog was very thick that day as you can see in the picture.
I just spot-metered on the bush you see on the right, hoping to get some detail of the bush, and I guess I got lucky.

3 & 5 would be my choices here as well.

Andre, you always post great shots, but overall I like your work with the 5D(II) and fast glass better

Thanks. Subtle tones ... you may be on to something.

I've been trying to decide what it is I like about this lens, but couldn't figure out how to describe it. I'm still learning with it.

I just made a monitor color space adjustment & added the second shot. The second shot was a little closer to what I originally envisioned on my screen. (Maybe that's why my prints have been coming out a touch darker / contrastier than I've been wanting.)

Paul, thanks - and I will take your comment into serious consideration

I do enjoy shooting RF, but stylewise it is not as consistent of a tool for me as the 5D II - I can see what you mean...

Ulrik - another great portrait - really like that his hand i obscuring his face - also great PP.

Kent, really cool ad for Marlboro

Like the top one best, with a touch darker tones.

I seem to see greater separation in B&W tones with the M8 vs. 5D.
Some side by side comparison shots would be interesting.

Thanks. I was wondering who might like which.

I was just surprised when I saw it on FM with the darker tones. A 'wee' bit different than what I was expecting (although I also like) ... so I went back & recalibrated my monitor and reviewed the profile that was being used. Switched my profile and things now match in my PP as well as elsewhere. Still need to do a test print, but I think I'll get much better matching now.
