#3 is amazing - I didn't know the train lines would be at the top ridge of some of these types of mountains. I'd LOVE to be the conductor of THAT train

John,

The train is a small cog rail train. There is a single track with a couple of double track passing places.

The train climbing up the hill:

The end station at the top (almost) of the mountain:

Hello Kaj,

Beautiful scenery. It's amazing to contemplate the amount of effort it took to build the rail line. Thanks for sharing the spectacular views.

What a beautiful place and what a superb hommage to it.
Excellent collection of great shots. Evidently I love them all, but #3 has something magical and captivating that converts it in my favorite.

Thank you Hugh, Rich and Javier!

The third one is also my favorite. The soft curves and forms throughout the image appeal to me.

The Swiss love their landscapes and mountains and to spend time there. No wonder that they have made an excellent train system that takes them to some of the most spectacular places even without any or very few inhabitants.

The Swiss train system is the most perfect I have seen anywhere. The track network is tight and trains run frequently and most importantly are coordinated so you never have to wait long for your connecting train regardless of where you come from and where you are going. The trains are running just on schedule and if one is late they display on the stations how many minutes behind schedule that particular train is. It is a masterpiece of logistics IMHO.

And... a nature lovers paradise!

Kind regards

Kaj
