p.1 #1 · sandisk card issue

I reformated the 12 gig extreme lll in my camera (350D) and its now only showing 7.8 gigs not 11.4 gig it was before hand. I called Sandisk and they had me reformat it on my Mac and card reader and it it shows 11.4 gigs again but now the camera wont read it. Error CF comes up. Sandisk said it may be a Canon software issue. Anyone ever run across this or have any ideas.

Thanks

When you reformatted it in your Mac did you format FAT32? If you can't find an option to do that, find a friend with a Windows computer and try reformatting it FAT32.

I decided the only logical thing to do was to buy a 40d and format it with that. That solved the problem Its Aweome

I'm a bit worried about buying one of those cards if your solution is the only one that works. I'd have to upgrade the 'ol 1d2 to a 1ds3 using your logic.

That was an expensive solution but it worked.

I use this tool http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197 for my 5D and 12gb sandisk.

Format the card with the tool in your computer, then use the 'erase all' function on camera instead of format in camera.
