HuskyDSL Offline Image Upload: Off p.1 #4 · #45: Pieces & Pawns Really like this shot. The lighting is really soft and clean. Also love the intricate detailing shown in the pieces, especially the knight. I also like that the texture of the lining is well resolved. The key is a great touch and I like the shadow it produces on the tabletop. I sort of agree with the comment about the brighter whites but i'm betting these pieces aren't white (beige/ivory i bet). I don't care for the "house of staunton" labels, a bit distracting. Were you going for the opposite colors or the opposing directions of the King and Queen... or both? Just curious... The "white" pieces are boxwood (beige). I'm not in the right tax bracket for ivory. . Maybe someday... Resolving detail in the green felt was a piece of cake compared to the blasted Ebony pieces. They're like miniature black holes. You'd swear that light just bends right into them. The Knights are truly a sight to behold in person. I debated on whether to include the label blocks, or whatever they're called. I purposely cropped the photo so that each "House of Staunton" block would only dislay half the wording and positioned them on opposite sides, forcing the viewer's eyes to traverse the image.
