Great shots Jude.
we have those in Australia too, but are known as Rainbow bee eaters. They nest in burrows in banks? Yours too?

Hi Mohammad, thanks for your comments. This is a real sharp lens if the focusing is accurate and without shake. Since you like the #1 I did a further cropping of that image to show the lens sharpness. Even the initial image(#1) I posted is a crop.

Beautiful shots, Jude. Your work has really improved lately. Your shots are cleaner and with sharper detail. Your composition skill is improving as well. I like them all in particular the second shot where you can se the front and the back of that beautifulbird: Beautiful wing display in # 5, and 6. Thanks for sharing,
Socrate
Thanks for you comments Socrate. I think I could capture better and improved images with my new glass since I could take images open wide without sacrificing IQ. Hoping to experiment more on low light capturing in future.

Everything comes together in #3, Jude, the perch and bird positioning are exquisite. I would have toyed around just a touch with the eye area in order to bring it out just a bit more. Great looking bird.
Thanks Norm for your comments and suggestion. Very much appreciate for taking time to view and comment.

Nice to hear that they are in Australia too. I thought they were only in Asia. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

Beautiful bird and some great images. Looks like you are really enjoying the 400mm. We see a lot of Bee-Eaters in East Africa too and this one reminds me of the Little Bee-Eater but the tail is longer and coloring is just slightly different.
Great flight shots which is what this lens does really well with a good photographer. I like 1 and 5 the best. No 5 because it shows the colors so well and the shape of the tail.

Really nice images. With birds that beautiful it's hard to go wrong. The only thing I might have done (if the option was available) is to move around and try one or two different perspectives/backgrounds. Maybe something with the tree as background...I dunno, just a thought. Great shots though.

Nice, I really like 3, 5, and 7. Number 10 is a nice study of the bird - I thought it was flying upside down when I first looked at it. Steve W
Thanks Steve for your comments. I had some 2nd thoughts before posting the #10. Glad you liked it.

Hi Grant, thanks for your complement. I haven’t seen such a wing spread of this bird. These guys are very fast when they are flying. Glad to know you liked the series.

Hi Rob, thanks for your comments. I had to jump to the lake to get a different angle and they were hanging around fairly high.
