I treally like these Will, 2 of the best RR I've seen you post.
The BG and subtly mono green/golden tones work well....wish we could ditch the steel

"ditch the steel" ...good one, Dave!! It's perched on an irrigation ditch turnout.

Love the color tones in these Will. I also like the fluffed up, time to go to work pose of the first.

Appreciate you stoppin' by, Steve. Yeah... they'll fluff up, roll their head, and then
assume the point position... eyes all wide.

Thanks Will......
for the memories......
I got my 1sr RR image down there at Bosque
thanks for teaching us the body behavior...important to us part-timers there!
The FMers should be arriving about now....
I have one down there now and a few more coming...
Now that Unit #3 has water again, I might have to plan a group trip for next year
Carry-on with the fun !!!

in gratitude,
Nelcha

Appreciate it, Nelcha. It's just a 'monkey's take on their behavior...I really need to
train one to mug for the camera with prey in mouth. I'll keep a eye out for your "flock"
towards the end of the week.

Thanks, Chad. They're tough...don't really fly. They'll use some wing for lift to a tree
or fence post and glide back down and that's the extent of it. They be so freakin' fast
on the ground, I guess they figure why bother

Great behavioral shots, Will. I don't mind the "steel" at all. They're living with what's there, after all.

You really nailed the exposure. Love the colors.

Hey Will
Compliment the handling of that exposure. I find the backlighting quite interesting on your RR'rs. Looks like the color tone of the foot and just below the eye match the steel rod, I am sure this is why you included it! Kind of a 'hard edged' looking bird, don't look much like feathers.
I like 'em both quite a bit, very neat. Keep having fun!

Regards...........Karl
