My apologies if this is posted in the wrong area.
Hadn't been to fredmiranda.com in some time. Never was a member, but lurked around, especially the classifieds.
The site came up in online conversation yesterday & it was noted that the Buy & Sell area had been updated to stop spammers (the preponderance of which had been the main reason for my hiatus). I dropped by this morning to see what was up & lo & behold, a lens I have been considering buying was for sale, located about an hour away from me. There was no contact info listed, so I attempted to register to PM the seller.
The response came back that I was not allowed to use a Hotmail, Yahoo, whatever, email account, in order to stop spammers. I have several email accounts, all of them with shaw.ca, only, period. It's a legitimate domain, used by many people in western Canada.
In frustration I searched (to no avail) for some way to contact someone, anyone, who could help me with my registration issues. I was unable to succeed, despite poring over every page I could click on. Am I just blind, or is there no way to contact a support person to help out unless I have an account, the very thing i was unable to create?
Disappointedly (actually, I was rather pissed), I watched the posts appear on the listing that the lens had been sold, pending payment.
I have borrowed my bride's work email to post this message, something I am not able to use on any kind of a basis.
Please advise.
