What is the definition of an "amateur photographer"? Is anyone that carries a camera and does not get paid for doing so an amateur photrgrapher?

It's quite clear. You don't make a living from photography, either directly (eg selling pictures) or indirectly (eg teaching).

I saw that earlier. Glad to see some common sense breaking out & cops acting improperly getting disciplined.
BTW, who cares about his amateur/pro status? It's irrelevant.
