Okay, I'll be the first.

1Ds (now sold in favour of a 5D), Contax 35-70/3.4 @ 70mm, f/8 or 11 (favourite lens), reversed Cokin GND 2 stop to kill the city lights a bit and better expose the sky. Such a small size does not do the pic justice at all.

5D, Contax 35-70/3.4 @ 35mm, stopped down to something.

To start the new alternative image thread off, here is an image when I first started using altenatives. This was shot in 2003 using an EOS D2000 and a Leica 400mm f2.8.

zhangp, wonderful tones!

Cambo 4x5 body, Schneider 240 G-claron lens, I forget the exposure on the first one, but the 2nd one was 1 minute at F32 I believe. Both on Tri-X with a full regular develop. Good amount of front rise on both photos.

Nikon D200 with Canon 35mm T/S @ f/5.6 Kept this one over the 35mm f/1.4 AIS. Much sharper and has T/S movements.

Love the first one - but it screams to be shown without the white borders...

Hello. I'm not sure if this is in the spirit of the thread but this was taken with my Nikon D80 fitted with a Sigma 70 - 200mm f2.8. Tell me if I misunderstood please: 160mm at f2.8.

35-70 CZ at 70mm

May I ask how you focus with that lens? Normal focussing glass in the 5d, or maybe a confirm adapter? I have a Contax to EOS confirm adapter, however with the 30-70 it is not working because it hits the mirror, well, the mirror of course hits the lens.

I find exact focusing with just the normal viewfinder difficult in the 5d, viewfinder is large enough to compose well, but not large enough to focus well, for me...

To focus I always use a C-angle finder and I don't have the focus confirm adapters (I use one of Son's).

The CZ 35-70 can hit the 5d mirror. Remove the small rectangular-curved block on the side of the rear lens shroud. I did this on 2 versions of the lens I have and it solved my problem on a 5D that I had (the 1ds2 has always been OK). It should be noted that for a few people this did not work....it's been mentioned a number of times with different responses.
