Hi,
Very nice shot with beautiful colours. I always find koi fish to be quite beautiful. Not really a criticism, but if you don't like the slight reflections from the surface a circular polarizer will knock them right out. Good luck. By the way Oct. 31 should be fine for this week.

Thanks for your comments Steve. Firstly, I don't own a CP filter. Yup. I have to buy one soon. For this photo, I kinda liked the reflection in the water and the bubbles because it goes with the title (It happens even underwater).

I really like the bubbles and the reflection off the water, it makes them seem wetter, if that is possible. It's a very nice shot, well done! A great take on the WA.

Yup, that's what I thought as well - wetter water.
The lack of equipment (CP filter) worked to my advantage here. But I still want one....

As a fellow koi owner who has taken thousands of shots of my koi this past 2 years (!) I've shot w and w/out a CP filter, and shooting w/out does give the impression of wetter! Sometimes not having reflections is great, but sometimes it doesn't look right at all, takes the shine off the surface of their scales, etc.! This works here! Very vibrant and full of energy; great colors.

Thanks Beverly. I remember your Koi shot as this was your entry in one of the assignments in the past. Btw, I am not a Koi owner (house not big enough to have a small pond). I shot this in a Koi Village. Fantastic colorful creatures they are.

Hi Runner
Great shot of two good looking fish, Looks like an Ogon on the left and a Kohaku on the right. As Beverly said if you use polarisers on these fish they lose there lustre but also because us koi keepers like to show of our fish, we put them in against dark backgrounds to make them stand out. once we remove the surface water referance they look as if they are in black water, very strange.
Great shot, i had hoped to do this at home but the fish are now preparing for winter and are at the bottom of the pond 6 feet down.
Well done
Mark

Hi, runner10. It looks like we have a couple of carp/koi entries this month, but I like yours much better. Beautiful color and the water reflection only adds to it.--Frank

Beautiful colors here. I dont mind the reflections in the water. The blown highlights in the golden koi detracts from the warm glow of the rest of the image. Great image.
