Don't see that many train images posted here and since this is a subject I'm interested in I thought I'd throw a quick one up. The photo shows a CP Rail intermodal rolling west through Fort Langley, B.C. on the CN main line about 30 miles east of Vancouver.
Okay, Group, let's keep this thread on the right track. Here is my contribution for today. I think I originally took this in 2000 or 2001. The ARR was testing a few Amtrak locos. They eventually purchased at least two of them and converted them to 'cabbage' units and have repainted them in the current livery. This shot was taken as the daily southbound was arriving at the station in Denali.
Here is one of my favorite cab shot's of all time! I am lucky and I get to ride in the cab of a steam locomotive many times throughout the Summer and Fall but I have never been able to recreate this shot.
I haven't been out 'fanning in a while (I haven't taken too many pictures lately, and I've been mostly aviation-oriented since late spring), but here are some of my favorite railroad photos:
Wow! I had no idea that one simple post would start something like this. There are a lot of really neat train images appearing here. Nice work to all of you. Here's another of mine. Taken in Jasper, Alberta in late May of this year. The train was just departing for Vancouver.
