Thank you for your positive comments, This was really a fun WA to do. I haven't looked at the watch for years.
More history of the watch.
It is still in working order, looks well used and is missing the hour hand. I am actually thinking of taking it to the local jewelry store and see what it would cost to have it cleaned and repaired. A quick Google search on Elgin watches turned up an old database, based on the serial number this is what turned up about this watch.

I have no way of photographing these but on further inspection of the movement cover, there are very very small engravings of past repairs to the watch, look like the were scratched into the metal with a small sharp metal pin.
