Getting the beast to hold flowers in its jaws for you must have been quite a feat.

Thank you Nick, your moto images are awesome as well. Is your servo tracking AF having any trouble, or are you getting a good keeper rate?
BTW, my name is Rob not Eric... Must have just taken a quick glance at my screen name, EMC 2. No prob, just thought I'd clear it up.

I think your bias with these. The second one is really good, but the lighting on the first one doesn't work for me. I guess that's no fault of the MkIII though. must be the lens

Bias?

Well, maybe just a little

I've found that it's pretty good for things that don't move as well.

Henry,
Very nice shots. For your type of photography, I would think that you go for a 1DsMk2 for the resolution instead of the 1DMK3. Why did you get the 1DMk3? For its high ISO performance?

Wow Rick, that firs shot is incredible. I really get the feel of speed from it. I didn't notice that the rain was bouncing until someone else pointed it out.

Gave it some serious thought but...

1. I don't really like the handling or interface on the MkII's. Seemed very odd to me. The extra weight was a factor but more importantly, the loss of those few ounces changed the balance and I just like the feel of the M3 better.

2. I do a lot of butterfly shooting and the extra reach is important to me as I often can't up close enough without destroying their environment. The issue is not so much for the pixel density but for critical manual focus.

3. I do some sports shooting for hoots and giggles only since I'm not very good at it. I don't often need or use more than 4 fps but when I do, having it is nice.

That said, if a 1DsMkIII fell into my lap I would give it a good and caring home.

Rob, Not sure where I got Eric from? I only shoot AI-SERVO and have not had any AF issues to date, I only shoot single point AF with C.Fn III 8-2. this is one of my 1st BIF shots, Nick

Question for you guys with the 1D mkIII.. Have any of you tried to make large prints from this camera yet? By large I mean 16x20 or larger..

Right now I have the 5D and I have a deposit on the 1Ds mkIII but I'm looking for a camera with some speed to it and I've been kicking around the idea of picking up a 1D mkIII
